Day 1 – Delhi
Upon your arrival to Delhi, you will be assisted by our agent and will be transferred to Delhi hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2 - Delhi Sightseeing throughout the day into the intricacies of Delhi. Followed by an overnight stay in the hotel.
Day 3 – Delhi to Lucknow ( By Train) Lucknow / Srasvati (150 Kms/3.5 Hrs) Journey via train from Delhi to Lucknow, further drive to Srasvati which is 150 kms and takes about 3& ½ hours. Visit to Saheth - Maheth and Jetvan at Srasvati. Followed by an overnight stay in the hotel at Srasvati
Day 4 – Srasvati to Lumbini, 180 kms/ 4 hrs drive Drive to Lumbini, en voyage visit to Kapilavastu (Piprawaha). On reaching Lumbini, we will make a visit to the Ashokan Column (the famous Rummindei Pillar). Followed by an overnight stay in the hotel at Lumbini.
Day 5 - Lumbini to Kushinagar , 165 Kms / 4 hrs drive Sightseeing at Lumbini in the morning hours. Drive to Kushinagar, sightseeing in the evening. Followed by an overnight stay in the hotel at Kushinagar.
Day 6 – Kushinagar to Patna , 231 Kms / 5 hrs drive Drive in the morning hours to Patna, en voyage visit to Vaishali. On reaching Patna, clock in at the hotel. Followed by an overnight stay in the hotel
Day 7 – Patna to Bodhgaya , 111 Kms / 2 hrs drive Drive in the morning hours to Bodhgaya, en voyage visit to Nalanda. Later, visit to Sun God temple at Rajgir. Clock in at the hotel at Bodhgaya. Followed by an overnight stay in the hotel at Bodhgaya.
Day 8 - Bodhgaya Visit to the Mahabodhi Temple and Lord Buddha Temple. Evening at leisure. Followed by an overnight stay in the hotel at Bodhgaya.
Day 9 – Bodhgaya to Varanasi , 240 Kms /5 hrs drive Drive in the morning hours to Varanasi, en-voyage visit to Sarnath which is 10 Kms east of Varanasi. Visit to deer park and museum. Followed by an overnight stay in the hotel at Varanasi.
Day 10 - To Delhi Visualize an exotic experience through boat cruise in the waters of the Ganges. Transport to the Airport for flight to Delhi. Followed by an overnight stay in Delhi hotel.
Day 11 - Depart Delhi In time transfer to International airport to connect flight for onward destination. |
Delhi the capital of India that is endowed with it’s own magnificent charm. It is placed in the northern-central India with access to the water of Yamuna River. Delhi is enriched with diverse customs and traditions from intricacies of India. Once it was throne to many grand dynasties, it has flourished as the center of political power. It is now becoming propound corporate hub. Delhi has been always delightful in embarking culture, ethnicity, art, theatre and nationwide history. It’s elegance is depicted in monuments and forts such as Red fort (fascinating light show can be witnessed), Qutab Minar, Humayun Tomb and startling markets like Chandni Chowk , Meena Bazar and many more.
Srasvati was once capital of Kosala, an cancient kingdom. It is believed that a mythical king, Srasvat, founded this city. It is renowned for providing dwelling site to Buddha in Jetavana gardens for about 24 rainy seasons. This city endows ancient stupas, panacious temples and grandiose monasteries. It is also believed that Buddha carried out some miraculous events here.
Lumbini is the birth place of Lord Buddha. It is near Kapilavastu, which was primeval capital of the Shakya Clan, ruled by Shuddhodna (Father of Lord Buddha). That is why Buddha is also known as Shakyamuni. Prince Gautam, left his palace in Kapilavastu at the age of 29 and came back after 12 years later, after he had perceived enlightenment. A huge Stupa stands at this archaic site, which is said to have the bone remnants of Lord Buddha.
Kushinagar was earlier known as Kushinara. It is believed that Lord Buddha achieved 'Mahaparinirvana' (escape from continual cycle from birth and rebirth) here. The figure of Reclining Buddha at the Temple is the most holy sight for the pilgrims. It is believed that a portion of this place, 50 kms east of Gorakhpur, with stack of bricks is a sight where Lord Buddha was cremated. He died at age of 80 yrs.
Vaishali is assumed to be the first republic ever in the world, where elected body of representatives of Buddhists devotees holds immense importance. At Kolhua, Lord Buddha conveyed his last discourse, predicting his imminent departure from the living world. Vaishali is very well known for beautiful dancer and enchantress of Vaishali, Amrapali who was highly overwhelmed by the preaching of Lord Buddha. Later, she left pleasure of worldly things and became a nun. Emperor Ashoka constructed a huge pillar to solemnize the sight of Buddha’s last discourse during his reign.
Patna is a modern capital city of Bihar. It is an important archaeological excavation site. Bodhgaya, site at which Buddha attained enlightenment lies in it’s close vicinity (about 80 kms). Visit to famous deer park at Sarnath where Lord Buddha gave his first discourse. Patna Museum serves as a little wonder for knowledge and peace.
Nalanda has one of the ancient universities of the world. Its archaic remains depict that above 2000 teachers and 1000 students lived and studied here. A Chinese visitor, Huien Tsang spent many years of his life here studying and collecting information. It also has an international center for Buddhist studies.
Rajgir was an ancient capital of Magadh kings; Lord Buddha often visited this place. Temple in Rajgir is devoted to the Sun God; hence it is sacred place for Hindus.
Bodhgaya is one among the most holy places for Buddhists, being a working Buddhist center and an important archaic site. The central point is Mahabodhi temple, place where Lord Buddha achieved enlightenment sitting under a pipal tree and started preaching. Dalai Lama often spends December here. Buddhists and non- Buddhists from all over the world make an ardent approach to Bodhgaya to know about Buddhism and meditation.
Varanasi is one of the chief centers of Buddhism in India. Lord Buddha delivered his first discourse at Sarnath. The Vishwanath temple or Golden Temple is the most holy place in Varanasi and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. In the evening you can spend time by involving yourself in ‘aarti’, which is done religiously at the banks of Ganges. Varanasi is famous for Banaras silk sarees.
