Day 08 - To Delhi (By Train) In the morning, proceed for the sightseeing tour of Gwalior. Later, transfer to the Railway Station to board Express train to Delhi. Delhi, the capital city of India is a remarkable city, having the perfect blend of past and present. You will visit many attractions of Delhi, such as, the 12th century 234 feet pillar of Mughal period Qutab Minar and the Iron Pillar nearby which has faced the harsh weather of ages; the elegant mausoleum of Humayun Tomb and Birla Temple made with modern architecture; the 1648 Red Fort made by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan; Asia’s one of the biggest mosques Jama Masjid; Raj Ghat and Shanti Vana the respective cremation sites of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru. You will also drive near the President's House, the Parliament House and the Secretariat buildings. Besides these, you will shop at Chandni Chowk and enjoy rickshaw ride there.
Mandawa Visit the historic city of Mandawa which still nestles glimpses of royal Mughal rule. The medieval fort of Mandawa gives the whole town a medieval look with its painted arched gateway with images of Lord Krishna. You will visit Chokhani and Ladia Havelis along with the Saraf Havelis, which are some splendid examples of Rajasthani havelis here.
Jaipur has a great deal of tourist attractions. Deriving its name from Maharajah Jai Singh, a veteran king, who founded the city in 1727. you will visit Hawa Mahal or Palace of Winds; Jantar Mantar, the quaint observatory; City Palace, a former royal residence and now a museum containing rare royal manuscripts, paintings, clothes and weapons. Enjoy shopping at the pink business areas. Near Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan is Amber Fort. Amer or Amber was an ancient capital of the region until 1728. Here you will visit the ancient Amer fort, located on a hill top. You will take a unique ride on the back of a well decorated elephant for going up and coming down the hill. Also Visit the Temple of Kali, the Hall of Victory or Jai Mahal and Jagmandir.
Fatehpur Sikri is an ancient fortified city, built by Emperor Akbar but was later deserted due to shortage of water. It is a remarkable city having majestic palaces. You will visit five-tiered Panch Mahal, the tomb of Saint Salim Chisthi, Diwan-e-Am and Diwan-e-Khas.
Agra is best known for Taj Mahal, the epitome of love made by Shah Jahan for his empress, Mumtaz Mahal. Dating as back as 18 years (1631-1648) with more than 20,000 craftsmen, Taj Mahal is one of the Wonder of the World. You will also visit Agra Fort, the ancient fort with architecture of the period dating to the reign of three great Mughal emperors, namely Akbar, Jahangir and Shah Jahan. Jahangiri Mahal, Anguri Bagh, Khas Mahal and Moti Masjid are other attractions of Agra.
Gwalior is the royal and ancient city of Madhya Pradesh. You will visit Gwalior Fort, one of the largest and mightiest forts in India. Visit the Sas-Bahu Temples that are 11th century temples of Lord Vishnu. Pay your homages at the 9th century A.D Teli-ka-Mandir, the 300-metre-high temple of lord Vishnu.
